A critical step in this historic build, the submarine survey will use specialist ships to sail the exact planned route of the cable from Brean, England to Halifax, Nova Scotia, ensuring the chosen route is free of obstacles and to assess the installation techniques to be used. As the first transatlantic subsea cable build in ten years, Project Express will offer the lowest latency route from New York to London of less than 60 milliseconds.  This will be the fastest, most direct route connecting the continents since the deployment of the first telegraph cables.

Hibernia Atlantic is commencing with the survey now and accelerating to the next phase. The results of this survey will allow for Huawei Marine Networks Co., Ltd. to manufacture the cable to the exact requirements, accommodating the conditions of the seabed and ensuring its resiliency.

HIBERNIA ATLANTIC CONNECTS TO INTERXION’S DUBLIN DATA CENTER

SUMMIT, NJ & DUBLIN, IRELAND – May 24, 2011 – Hibernia Atlantic, the only diverse transatlantic high bandwidth connectivity provider, announced today that its high capacity fibre optic cable system is now connected to Interxion’s newest data centre, DUB2, located in Dublin, Ireland.  The new high capacity link offers the only direct, submarine cable to connect North America to Ireland.  This high performance connectivity also provides access throughout Ireland, and to and from mainland Europe and North America, allowing for local and global commerce opportunities.

Interxion, a leading European provider of carrier-neutral colocation data centre services, operates 28 carrier-neutral data centres located across 11 European countries. Interxion clients now have access to the only diverse network route linking Europe, the United States and Canada.
