Next Generation Network Planning: Allied Fiber Provides a Window of Opportunity For Network Operators to Participate in the Design of Its Dark Fiber Network

Posted by Jaymie Scotto on August 4th, 2010

Over the next six weeks, Allied Fiber, the carrier neutral operator building an integrated dark fiber, colocation and tower system throughout the United States, will be collecting the final data points for their network system build. The information will include details such as fiber type, number of pairs, amount of colocation space and associated power, both type and amount.  Allied Fiber is offering the opportunity for customers and prospects to have direct involvement with the design of the network. Involvement such as this has never existed before and further demonstrates Allied Fiber’s commitment to meet America’s dark fiber needs.

Network operators of all types, from wireless backhaul to carrier transport providers, ISP’s, content providers, community network operators, municipalities, enterprise and Research & Development (R&D)   are encouraged to participate in providing feedback for Allied Fiber’s custom built network deigned to meet the market’s needs. In the past, carriers built long haul fiber networks for carriers, increasing costs as networks were being built for single entities. Co-built systems, like Allied Fiber’s, produce greater return and can be created at a fraction of the cost because of the various network types and their associated needs which further drive opportunity and revenue to the users.

Allied Fiber’s system is open to all types of networks and has no restrictions on the amount of dark fiber and colocation that can be purchased. With this form of openness, Allied Fiber’s colocation facilities, along its network, not only provide a secure facility with redundant power and cooling but also become meet-me type interconnection points for local carriers, MSO’s and aggregation points for wireless backhaul traffic from surrounding towers.

For more information on how to submit network feedback to Allied Fiber, please email info@alliedfiber.com. To learn more about Allied Fiber, visit www.alliedfiber.com.
