Arbinet Reduces fees on Private Exchange SM

Low risk, easy-to-use access to Direct Routes

New Brunswick, NJ, USA – September 21, 2009- Arbinet Corporation. [Nasdaq: ARBX], a leading provider of  voice and IP solutions to carriers and service providers globally, has significantly reduced the fees it charges to transport traffic on Private ExchangeSM, an easy to use, low-risk outsourcing service.  Fees have been reduced to the majority of destinations around the world by up to 57%.  Arbinet’s voice termination and origination options also include thexchangeTM, the industry’s leading marketplace for buying and selling voice communications and a traditional wholesale model called Arbinet Carrier Services.

Private Exchange enables retail service providers and carriers to easily and cost-effectively create virtual interconnections with corresponding carriers that have direct routes into their markets.  Users negotiate rates and volumes between themselves using an online tool.  Arbinet routes, bills and settles between the designated parties.

“We use Private Exchange to reach a number of corresponding direct providers”, states Tobias Skog, VP Head of Trading and Mobile Data, of TeliaSonera International Carrier, a part of the leading Nordic and Baltic telecommunications group.  “We are able to route our traffic to carriers we select, but save on CAPEX, provisioning, protocol conversion and back office costs.  Arbinet handles everything except the negotiation of rates between TeliaSonera and our suppliers.”

Private Exchange users benefit from improved circuit utilization and increased network efficiency while reducing the back-office costs associated with managing numerous interconnections.  TDM/VoIP conversion and VoIP protocol support are included.  Swap agreements and volume commitment deals are facilitated.  Online reporting tools with automatic alerting enable monitoring of quality and volumes.  Private Exchange has the ability to resolve Number Portability issues by checking routed traffic against Arbinet’s Global Number Portability Database to ensure that calls are sent to the correct terminating carrier.  The service is supported by CreditWatch SM, Arbinet’s credit management system backed by third party underwriting that protects sellers and guarantees fast, reliable payment.

“Arbinet’s Private Exchange provides a streamlined service to do business with new customers without the hassle of interconnection,” said Jan Dingenhouts, Commercial Director for MTN International Carrier Services.  “We don’t have to worry about payment, credit checks, circuit charges, or contractual negotiation.  We simply send the invite, make new offers, and we are in business.  It is all done online and is a cost-effective solution for us to bring in additional revenue that we would otherwise not have access to.”

“We are working hard to provide the international voice community with flexible, cost-effective ways to originate and terminate voice traffic,” said Dan Powdermaker, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Arbinet. “The Private Exchange cost reductions are one of a number of changes we have made at Arbinet to help our customers, suppliers and Exchange members more effectively serve their end-users and compete.”

Private Exchange is available to all thexchange members and Carrier Service customers and providers for the routing of retail traffic to direct termination routes.
