ITW 2009 News Round-Up

ITW 2009, held June 1-3, 2009 was a resounding success.  Many people commented that it was one of the best events they had ever been to.  Others said it was the first time, at this venue, that attendees were compelled to visit the bilateral tables and exhibition areas.

Product Quality and Price Satisfaction for Global Wholesale Telecom Products is Up, According to Latest Edition of ATLANTIC-ACM Global Wholesale Report Card        

ATLANTIC-ACM, a leading telecommunications industry research firm, announced the general availability of its 2009 Global Wholesale Carrier Report Card today at International Telecoms Week 2009 (ITW 2009) in Washington, D.C.   This edition of the industry’s principle benchmarking study, which is based on more than 1,200 individual ratings of global carriers by their wholesale customers, revealed increased customer satisfaction across key wholesale voice and data products, among other noteworthy trends.   To read the full text click here.

Columbus Networks to Offer International MPLS in Caribbean

Columbus Networks says it has introduced MPLS technology over its undersea fiber-optic network allowing businesses in the Caribbean to improve the use and efficiency of their private wide area networks. Telx Chooses Lexent Metro Connect’s Dark Fiber Optical Network to Connect its New York City facilities

Lexent Metro Connect has deployed a dark fiber optical network for Telx, one of the largest and fastest-growing domestic interconnection and colocation data center operators. The dark fiber network links Telx facilities at 60 Hudson Street and 111 8th Avenue in Manhattan. The network supports the Telx Metro Cross Connect service that provides TDM and Ethernet connectivity at various speeds between Telx’s New York area colocation facilities. Wilshire Connections (WILCON) Expands in Los Angeles and to Las Vegas, NV

Wilshire Connections, a leading metro fiber network provider in Los Angeles, announced it has extended its dark fiber network to two additional buildings in downtown Los Angeles located at 1200 West 7th St. (the Garland Building) and 900 N. Alameda St. (the Wilshire Annex building). Wilshire Connection has also lit a new network route between its entire Los Angeles network Points of Presence (PoPs) to Las Vegas, where the company has deployed a PoP at SwitchNAP, providing access to any of the SwitchNAP facilities throughout Las Vegas.  To read the full text click here.
