ATLANTIC METRO COMMUNICATIONS PARTNERS WITH WAYPOINT TELECOMMUNICATIONS TO EXPAND ITS NETWORK AND SERVICES WITHIN THE MID-WEST
Uncategorized May 4th, 2009Two complimentary network service providers, Atlantic Metro Communications and Waypoint Telecommunications, have partnered to expand each of its networks, leveraging the others’ complimentary services.
Atlantic Metro is a SAS 70 managed network and service provider that offers dark fiber, nation-wide colocatoin and IP Transit primarily in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles markets. On the other-hand, Waypoint Telecommunications is a Mid-West regional facilities-based carrier that connects key business centers throughout the region, including Grand Rapids, MI; Cleveland, OH; Indianapolis, Indiana; St. Louis, MO; and Chicago, IL. What one has, the other doesn’t (and vice versa).
In this deal, Waypoint Communications has extended its reach into the Chicago, IL market by purchasing managed colocation services from Atlantic Metro at its facility located at 350 East Cermak Road. With this new Point of Presence (PoP) in Chicago, Waypoint has also leveraged Atlantic Metro’s Chicago metro fiber network to interconnect its facilities within the market to its regional network.
Atlantic Metro also sees this as an opportunity to extend its network reach throughout the Mid-West. The company will gain access to Waypoint’s network to offer transport services from DS1/T1 up to OC192 and beyond to Waypoint’s over 50 PoPs through-out the region, including carrier htoels, ILEC facilities and Central Offices. Truly a win-win for both companies.
