Internet Services Firm’s In-Kind Gift Assists Fundraising to PRovide Clean Water SOlutions to People in Developing Nations
NEW YORK, NY– October 14, 2008 – Datagram, the Internet Network Services Company, announces today its in-kind donation of dedicated hosting services and Internet access to charity: water, (www.charitywater.org) the non-profit bringing clean, and safe water to people in developing nations. More than 1.1 billion people on the planet – or one out of every six persons – currently do not have access to clean water. In the two years since its founding by Scott Harrison, charity: water has funded over 890 water projects in 13 countries. charity: water uses a range of water solutions, such as hand-dug wells, deep wells (boreholes), rehabilitations, spring protections, and rainwater harvesting schemes. In-kind donations, like Datagram’s Internet hosting of charity: water’s website and videos, make it possible for the non-profit to use 100 percent of the money it raises to directly fund water and sanitation projects in impoverished communities in Africa, Asia, and Central America.
