July 16, 2008: Here I am Blogosphere!   This is my first foray into blogging, so please bare with me as I hope to grow this blog into an interesting read and commentary on the life and times of a PR and Marketing gal in the telecommunications world.

Today I spent some time correlating RSVP responses to a ‘Telecom Happy Hour’ that I am organizing for Metro New York area Telecom folks on July 17th.  We used to do these more frequently but apparently have gotten too busy (or too caught up in creating families) to get together in the past few years.  So I decided to take the lead.  There are over 50 people coming to Battery Garden’s tomorrow at 5:30pm.  If you happen to read this and want to come down, the more the merrier!  Just plan to pay for what you drink – and with this crew, you WILL drink!

A new venture and a new direction is always challenging, but this one has been a refreshing and exciting start so far.  Day 1 (yesterday) we had a GREAT meeting with a potential client.  It is the perfect fit and what a win that would be.  Hopefully I will be able to write more about this company in detail soon!

Day 2 – today – I began networking and extending Public Relations and Marketing services and support to my contacts.  This is going to be my life for the foreseeable future – it’s going to be fun!  I also listened to a fascinating Webcast about Web 2.0 and Telco 2.0 technologies hosted by Light Reading.  It spurred some terrific marketing, communications and public relations ideas.
