A Welcome Note to the ITW Delegates

Welcome to the fourth issue of The ITW 2009 Delegate Newsletter, a bi-monthly newsletter distributed to all those attending the upcoming International Telecoms Week 2009 on June 1-3 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

SPECIAL NOTICE:

With the recent media coverage on swine flu, ITW would like to inform all delegates that ITW 2009 will run as scheduled and should not be impacted. The most recent World Health Organisation (WHO) statement states that the WHO advises no restriction of regular travel or closure of borders. Clearly if the situation changes, we would inform all ITW delegates.

Less than five weeks away from ITW 2009, delegates are actively preparing for the global telecommunications meeting.  ITW has attracted over 610 wholesale companies totaling more than 2,800 delegates from around the world.  This is a dramatic increase in registration since last year at this time, when we had 1,900 delegates from 400 companies.  Additionally, more than 140 of these companies have booked bilateral tables, with dozens more confirming meeting rooms, suites and exhibit space, all to network and conduct business at ITW.  With nearly a month to go, delegates have been actively logging into the ITW DealCenter planning over 1,660 meetings that will occur during our 3-day event.

In order to accommodate the growing number of ITW 2009 delegates, we have reserved the entire Marriott Wardman Park Hotel. To ensure a safe and targeted wholesale meeting for all, security will be present at the entrances of the hotel, allowing only registered delegates access to the hotel, including the main lobby, restaurants, elevators and all hotel rooms.   If you have additional team members who would like to attend ITW 2009, you can register them online now by clicking here. Day passes will also be available on-site as well.

In anticipation of this global meeting, carriers are preparing breaking news to announce at ITW. We have dedicated a special opening session to announce, discuss and debate. So mark your calendars now: Monday, June 1 at 8:20 a.m., please meet us in the Marriott Ballroom Salon 1 on the Lobby Level of the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel for the Opening Plenary Session. Details of the session and who will be speaking will be announced shortly. For additional panel session topics at ITW, please click here.

HOST A ROUNDTABLE DISCUSSION

Is your company interested in hosting a roundtable on a particular topic or industry issue at ITW? There will be opportunities to do this with help from the TelCap team to research content, acquire specific speakers or simply organise the session for you in one of the meeting rooms.

To find our more about the various sponsorship packages, please contact Rachel Jones at rachel.jones@capacitymedia.com or Guillaume Boyer at guillaume.boyer@capacitymedia.com.
